Overview:
Oasis is a Unity-built mobile game designed for children, developed in conjunction with the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). The game introduces players to turtle conservation through an engaging story and a series of mini-games. Players help clean and protect the island of Oasis, learning about the importance of caring for marine environments in an interactive and age-appropriate way.
Contribution:
As Project Lead, I was responsible for nearly every aspect of development, including programming, shader work, environment and UI design, and gameplay systems. While the project was undertaken as a team, I carried out the bulk of the creative and technical work to bring the game to completion.
Game Highlights:
- A collection of mini-games focused on cleaning up and protecting marine habitats.
- Story elements that place the player in the role of a turtle, tying gameplay to conservation themes.
- Mobile-first design with intuitive touch controls and a colourful aesthetic tailored to younger audiences.
